About Our Gallery

The ACAI Gallery is a local Community Gallery associated with Allied Ceramic Art Institute (ACAI), A 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The Mission of ACAI is to promote and preserve ceramic and other arts through facilities, equipment, education, and exhibitions. It is also ACAI’s Mission to provide gallery space for local artists to show their work. We are looking for artists, new or established, in any medium, to participate in themed shows. We do not charge for submissions unless it is not for sale (NFS). ACAI keeps a percentage of all sales and collects $25 for all submissions that are NFS. We will accept NFS as space permits, and collect the $25 fee with the art delivery.

Gallery Hours

Wednesday through Friday from 1 pm to 4 pm and Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm. Hours are extended from 11 am to the end of the Artist Reception on the Reception Saturday of each show. You can also make an appointment to visit the gallery at a time more convenient for you.

Call to Artists

All Artwork must be original, fit the theme of the chosen show, and not have been in the ACAI Gallery within the past three years.

The October/November Gallery Theme is Holiday Mix-Up. A Holiday is defined as: A special day or period of time when people stop working or going to school to celebrate, rest, travel, or any other celebration. It can include family gatherings to celebrate special events, vacations, one-day trips for relaxation or fun, sometimes only a few hours for something different and fun. It can also include national holidays, state holidays, community events celebrating a culture, or just celebrating. This covers anything you, as an artist, have created signifying some type of fun and/or relaxation. It might be as simple as a conversation or show that sparked your interest and created a special piece of art that leads to a holiday.

Pertinent dates are: Submission through September 19th, Drop-off September 19th through September 25th, Show dates September 30th through November 14th, Reception October 17th from 4 to 6 pm, and Pick up November 14th through November 21st.

There are two separate forms below. Fill out the Artist Information – Press Submit. Then fill out the Artwork Information and press Submit.

1) Artist Statement: About you, the artist, your motivation, interests, etc.

2) Artist Works: Inspiration for the work could include construction details or the history of the work

Your artist statement should be written to help connect you and your work with the reader on a personal level. Share what you are doing as an artist in a personal way. People often make purchases of things where they feel some connection with the maker. This is especially true for things that are "not essential". Please keep your statement to less than 120 words or 500 characters. Besure to Click the Submit button when you are done
